CHILDHOOD should be the time when the seeds of sharing and self awareness start to bloom. This multidisciplinary project opens up children’s world and makes them discover the world of other children who are living in other countries. It relies on the sharing and learning about others but in the way children like to do it.

This project also ENHANCES CREATIVITY and ARISES CURIOSITY and opens up paths for children to DISCOVER ABOUT THE WORLD around them. In this project, pupils also work on DEVELOPING a BETTER UNDERSTANDING of THEMSELVES.

We have put young children in the centre of the circle, because the way children do it is always more innocent, naive, natural and deriving from the heart. So, teaching the importance of PEACE, tolerating CULTURAL DIFFERENCES and CREATING the AWARENESS of a BEAUTIFUL WORLD where all people should live as ONE should better start at early ages. Therefore, the project involves everything that children can do and like to do.

The project aims to promote and encourage intercultural dialogue with primary school children through interactive work such as storytelling, visual arts, music, drama supported with ITC skills in order to share a common imaginary world and understand each other.

- improving the competencies of teachers, trainers and other staff and the quality of curricula and
learning environments for children under compulsory schooling age
- supporting and encouraging early language and literacy development
- encouraging a respect for differences of culture and tradition
- stimulating child creativity and thinking
- improving children’s motivation and attention and critical thinking talents

The implementation of the project will be task and activity based. Enjoyable tasks will be designed, students will do it and share it online either through videos or visuals. Portable stuff might be sent or brought with the teachers during the meetings. The project mascot travelling throughout the countries and visiting the pupils will be an important item which will keep the interaction warm and lively.

and DANCING, DRAMA and PUPPETS, CARTOONS and STORIES. For example, they will introduce their
traditional games and toys, and also see what they play in common with the others. They will
teach each other songs in their own languages or discuss the moral of a tale from their point of view.
They will contribute to each other’s festivals and send their favorite recipes. By such activities pupils will
DISCOVER THEIR OWN CULTURE first and then get the chance to INTRODUCE it to the other countries
and then compare and contrast and finally see what they have in common and what is different.
In the meantime, the need of using a common language will show them that learning a foreign
language is vital.

All participants will carry out the planned outcomes like the peace train, the art gallery, folk tales booklet and DVD, song CD, toy construction and museum, recipe book, photo exhibition and make the mascot visit the pupils. Besides all of there will be website for the project to publish all the products of the project like the E-magazine, animated cartoons and brochure. All the countries will contribute with student products for these outcomes. Peace and Harmony Day will be organized and planned in the best way it fits the schools' own curricula. A multilingual dictionary of the most important words and phrases for the teachers will also be prepared.

The project partners are 6 primary schools from Turkey, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria and Macedonia.

We hope our project is continuous improvement of the quality of education. We expect that this project will
help to open the socio-cultural horizons for all the children and all the schools involved in this project.
It’s a unique possibility of knowing and working with the pedagogical staff from different countries which
provides every partner country with a very rich experience as well as it supplies participating teachers
experience in diversity of educational methods. To promote cultural diversity and the learning of foreign
languages at early age and to improve children motivations for learning different languages.

The project will also support the development of innovative ICT-based content, services, pedagogies and
practice in lifelong learning and to encourage collaborative working, communication, and management of
information skills. Learning to learn, teachers will be aware of permanent development. This awareness will
help them to understand that ability of learning is the key to success. Gathering the knowledge and ability of using it in everyday activities is one of the most important skills in modern world.
